About PTV

PTV — PunkTV — is one channel of music television for punk, emo, screamo, and hardcore: a clock-locked, looping station that plays one shared program of verified official uploads, on the air around the clock. Everyone tuned in sees the same thing at the same time. There are no accounts, no search, no queue-building, and no way to pause the broadcast.

Scheduled, not live

PTV is a schedule, not a live stream. The program is compiled in advance into a fixed loop of six named blocks of nine tracks each — roughly three hours of music — and the loop repeats. Your player follows the broadcast clock: when you tune in, you land on whatever is on air now, at its current position, and it moves forward from there.

Sync is approximate. Two viewers are on the same track or an adjacent one — within about one track, not frame-accurate. Ads and buffering can add delay. There are no live operators, no requests, and nothing is streamed in real time from PTV's own servers.

The program

Each block has a name and an intent. Block names are positional, not clock-aligned — the loop starts wherever it starts, and the blocks run in order.

Every track is verified before it is scheduled: PTV plays each video's official upload, and nothing goes on air until a human has confirmed it plays through YouTube's embedded player. Each track's on-screen dogtag — artist, title, album, year, label — comes from the release itself, not from YouTube metadata.

Rights and media

PTV does not host or re-stream any media. It plays public YouTube uploads through YouTube's embedded player, under YouTube's API Services terms. Whether a video plays depends on its rights holder's settings and on YouTube's policies, which PTV does not control. PTV makes no licence claim. If you are a rights holder and want a track removed, use the contact address on this page.

PTV claims no legal immunity, and nothing on this page is a claim that any catalog is licensed. PTV is an unauthenticated third-party web client: it uses YouTube API Services, and it depends entirely on each rights holder's embedding settings and on YouTube's policies for what stays available.

Rights holders and takedowns

If you are a rights holder and want a track removed from the program, write to [email protected]. Say which track you mean — artist and title is enough. Requests are handled directly and promptly; the track comes out of the schedule at the next compile.

Storage

PTV sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. The server keeps standard access logs for 7 days for operations. Full details are on the privacy page.
